If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you're in luck!
I love both MH and RPG horror, and I've seen people make concept art for such a game, but as far as I'm aware, no one has actually made a game.
Until now.
"But what about Slender and his pages?" you may ask.
I'm aware that Slender is based on MH, but in my opinion, those games and their clones don't really get across the same type of horror that MH has. Those games are closer to Ao Oni in design, and while a MH game could potentially just be another Slender reskin with tapes instead of pages... what would be the point?
For similar reasons, I don't intend to copy the story completely or make a 1:1 adaptation. MH works incredibly well in its original medium, and trying to make the same thing work as a puzzle game, or even a visual novel, would just fall flat in comparison. Instead, I want this game to explore what happens between the entries, when the camera isn't rolling. I'm assuming most people that play this game have already seen MH, so it wouldn't make much sense to just retell every single entry anyway.
That being said, this game is nowhere near done. I've been working on it since January this year, and I'm currently in undergrad and working, so I have to use my free time. My goal was to make a playable demo (or at least a proof of concept so I could talk about it) by the 15th anniversary of MH. And I just barely made it! I wish I had been able to fit more into this demo, but I hope it at least makes you interested in what it could be in the future!

LOVEDDD THIS SO MUCH . The game felt oddly nostalgic since I grew up loving RPG Horror . The 'new recording/insert tape" was also really smart In my opinion along with the name system
cannot wait for the full release!
Only question I have Is would It be possible to add an option to switch between the arrow keys and WASD In the future??

i will def figure out if i can add alt controls! i was kinda surprised rpg maker mv didn’t have arrow keys and wasd interchangeable since z and enter are. it might just be buried in the system settings on my end :p

Walkthrough/Hints for Birdhouse Code
the page on the tree in the same area has the word “YOU” on it, with the number 25 written next to the Y and then partially erased.
this number corresponds to the place Y has in the alphabet (letter->number), 25.
doing the same for the other letters, we get O=15 and U=21.
there is a number of dots on the right side of each letter. Y has 2, O has 1, and U has 3.
the number of dots shows the letter/number’s placement in the code. OYU.
the code is 152521.

Man I could not figure out the birdhouse code on the page last night I tried for 40 minutes. What I was able to play was really cool though.

Marble Hornets is an unfiction/found footage series on youtube inspired by the original Slenderman pictures and mythos created by Victor Surge (the first video released just 10 days after the pictures!). If you're curious, there's a few playlists that have the videos in released order with videos from another channel (ToTheArk) that's part of the story. NightMind and Sagan Hawkes have also made really good videos on it if you're not willing to watch the whole thing yourself, but I definitely recommend experiencing it firsthand!
